OUR PHILOSOPHY
Fighting Back Against Parkinson’s
Exercise is Life is focused on supporting people living with Parkinson’s disease and Parkinsonism, an umbrella term that includes Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders that may affect balance, walking, coordination, posture, speech, strength, and confidence.
Parkinson’s can impact every part of daily life. Simple tasks may become harder. Movement may feel slower. Balance may feel uncertain. Many people also experience fatigue, stiffness, changes in mood, and a loss of independence.
Through Rock Steady Boxing, we help people fight back.
Rock Steady Boxing is a non-contact, boxing-based program designed specifically for people with Parkinson’s. The program combines boxing drills, strength training, balance work, agility, coordination, voice activation, and functional movement in a safe and encouraging environment.
Regular, targeted exercise can help improve strength, mobility, balance, confidence, and quality of life. Rock Steady Boxing also provides something just as powerful: community. A place to laugh, move, connect, and feel supported.
At Exercise is Life, our mission is to make Parkinson’s-specific exercise accessible, empowering, and life-changing — helping every participant move better, feel stronger, and fight back with hope.
Find your strength. Find your community. Find your home.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
As a cardiologist specializing in cardiac care for athletes, heart failure patients, and cancer survivors, I can't stress enough the importance of physical activity to promote health and wellness for every one of us.
Wherever you are in your journey back to health, exercise will help give you strength, fitness, and confidence to feel better mentally and physically.
And as a client of Sabine's, I can personally vouch for how positively her training program impacts everyone that she trains.

We love Sabine’s Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson’s class! My husband is a Parkinson’s patient and we were fortunate enough to find Sabine’s class, and we now both participate in the class together.
She keeps us moving to great music and makes it fun by incorporating boxing moves, light weights, balance, core, and cardio, so we get an overall body workout! Sabine is very compassionate and caring and is passionate about keeping us healthy and modifies moves to fit all levels as well as any injuries you might have. It’s a great group and we have made some great friends!

Sabine and her class has given me the confidence to keep moving. Her patient and kind method is always reassuring.
She is invested in this program and in her "clients" friends. I am so appreciative of Rock Steady and Sabine!

What a delight to have found Sabine Evans with her many years of teaching experience and her ability to motivate us in her Rock Steady Parkinson’s program. Her inspiration, energy, and concerns for all her participants is so welcomed and appreciated.
The program offers a range of exercises, some weights, and boxing moves that keep you moving, without getting bored. You actually feel the benefits right after the class. Not only is it a good class but there is a wonderful connection among all the participants.

“As an elderly woman living with Parkinson’s, both my movement and processing are continually challenged. That’s why finding this space — and Sabine — has meant so much to me. The environment she has created is friendly, nurturing, and genuinely warm. It’s a place where patience and personal attention aren’t extras; they’re the foundation.
Sabine meets each of us exactly where we are, offering thoughtful care while gently encouraging us to push ourselves safely. Her energy is authentic, her joy contagious, and her commitment unmistakable. I am deeply appreciative to know her and to be part of this supportive community she has created — and I hope to continue benefiting from it for years to come.”
